Mid-way through our 9 day road trip around Iceland, my mom and I found ourselves wandering the sand dunes of a freezing black sand beach. As I strolled a few steps behind my mom, I noticed that her yellow jacket created an amazing contrast between the blues of the cold air and the black from the sand. I really love this shot, because of the sense of "isolation" I get from it. No other sign of human activity is in the shot other than the figure, and the beauty of the fresh snow drops on the mountain and the black sand really create a sense of being immersed in the wilderness.
