Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from my house in the Lanquedoc region of France. I was trying for several days to get a clear photo that I could zoom in on.

Time

I spent the morning taking various photos of the birds at my feeder, from inside my house so as not to disturb them.

Lighting

This is natural morning light. I wanted to get some light reflecting on the eyes.

Equipment

This was a hand held shot with a Canon EOS M3 with a 55-250 mm lens.

Inspiration

Having moved to France from the East coast of the United States, I am fascinated with all the birds I have never seen before.

Editing

This is a very enlarged photo, close cropped. I have some basic noise reducing software, which with an enlargement of this magnitude came in handy

In my camera bag

I have always with me my Canon EOS M3. I take a lot of landscape photos and distance shots so I have a Canon 55-250mm as my standard lens which I leave on the camera at all times so I am ready to shoot when the opportunity arises

Feedback

I suggest using Aperture priority AV setting for clear focus and softer backgrounds.
