Each year Koreans celebrate Buddha’s birthday with a week of festivities celebrating the teachings of the Buddha. One of these days includes a parade with monks, schools, dance groups, families, etc. carrying lanterns throughout the streets that represent the light of the Buddha. This image was taken near a Buddhist Temple, Jogyesa, and despite the rainfall that evening the festivities continued filling the streets with laughter, smiles, and brightly lit lanterns.
