Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken one stormy day at the Jersey shore where I live, actually the next town over in Sea Girt, NJ

Time

This is one of my all time favorite pics. I've always wanted to capture a sailboat on the ocean with lots of texture such as layers of clouds and one afternoon around 12 noon I was out just talking shots cause I loved the layers of gray against the ocean color and I was able to capture this lone sailboat out there.

Lighting

I love shading of any kind and the shading of the white against the background of different grays was amazing to capture

Equipment

At the time I was using a Pentax K2 camera 300mm len

Inspiration

Light inspires me, shadows, inspire me, sometimes just seeing something in a different way makes me shoot a pic. I love the ever changing environment, seasons, weather, lighting. All these things change how we view something that reveals beauty in this world

Editing

Sometimes I will use Snapsee to bring colors out, structure that may be hidden on a flat pic.

In my camera bag

Currently I switch from Pentax to Nikon, always have a 50mm, 300mm and now I have a 600 with my tripod to get further away shots closer and more clearly

Feedback

Keep getting what you think you see, I may take 100 pics before I get the one I really like. Its all practise and perseverance
