Behind The Lens

Location

The shot is taken in the Dolomites, in the path below the three peaks of Lavaredo, to the right of the shot the first shoulder.

Time

in the afternoon while returning from the tour around the three peaks of Lavaredo

Lighting

The light in the mountains is always changing and this condition lasted a few minutes, the time to take the car from the backpack. Of course the conditions of good weather and beautiful clouds do the rest.

Equipment

Freehand shooting.

Inspiration

The beautiful light and an unusual angle of the three as of Lavaredo which are generally taken directly ..

Editing

I emphasized the beautiful light managed lights and shadows uniforming the whole frame, few adjustments being a basic jpeg. I am satisfied with the shot.

In my camera bag

Personally I use an FF machine, now the Sony A7r3 with the Sony 1635F4Z a wide compact and highly efficient, the Sony 2470F2.8GM which helps in the central range, heavy but is wonderful at all focal lengths. Then I choose either the 70200F4 or the 100400 because for me in the mountains a long zoom helps a lot for landscapes or even animals .. To this I always carry a three foot carbon, a remote control a flashlight, a series of filters: a variable ND , a Polarizer and a UV. If I stop in the shelters to sleep a mechanical star tracker for the night. One or two spare batteries.

Feedback

Always try to observe the light and its variations, time does not wait and should be taken quickly. If instead you shoot with long poses look for viewing angles different from the standards. It is worth having a single shot than one already seen.
