Location
This photo was taken out at our favourite place to camp Sleeping Giant Provincial Park near Thunder Bay Ontario CanadaTime
I took this photo around 4pm during our Thanksgiving weekend. It was the last weekend the park was open and we usually gathered for a potluck Thanksgiving dinner.Lighting
Since I live in Canada, it was October and late afternoon, so this had light from the setting sun.Equipment
I took this picture using an iPhone 7, just using the regular photo filter.Inspiration
We always walk before the dinner, I have two dogs that love to get out. Once we reached the dock area when I walked out onto the dock I looked west and saw this view. I was struck by the stillness of the water and the beauty of the trees.Editing
No I didn't do any post-processing as far as I can recall. In my camera bag
I have an older Yashica manual film camera that I like to take hiking. But I usually always have my phone one me I like to have different lenses for different effects as well.Feedback
I always suggest patience. Patience is key to get the light you want - especially up here. In this instance it wasn't patience so much as being aware of my surroundings and knowing the ever changing light due to the setting sun and the surrounding hills. So be patient, be aware and take the shot when you have the chance.
