I shot this self-portrait in Ventura, CA back in 2014. I remodeled motels for a while and one was placed a block away from Pierpont Bay. I would wake up and sit at the beach early before sunrise before starting my day. It would be slightly cold and windy, but it was always worth it to have an entire beach to myself.
