Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is taken near my home in Dalarna county, Sweden.

Time

It was 12:00 pm a 2 december 2018 a grey winter day without snow.

Lighting

The very grey day gave no shadow so therefore it wasn't any problem with the light.

Equipment

I used a canon eos 100 d with my back then favourite simple canon ef 55-250 mm f 4-5,6 by hand.

Inspiration

This train is in use only a few times of the year and I really wanted to come close and shoot it. This time it was the first time and I was really lucky to catch it. I was on the way to our city, almost always with my camera and saw two elderly men with cameras in a stop close to the rails and the highroad. So I stopped, jumped out of the car and run to the rails.

Editing

Not so much, only the usual as contrast, clarity, light and colour. I wanted it to look as I saw it.

In my camera bag

I have updated my equipment to a canon eos 5 d mark IV with the lenses canon ef 24-105 mm is II usm f 4, canon ef 70-200 mm f 2,8 is II usm and an extender canon 2,0. But I still use my canon eos 100 d.

Feedback

Google museum steam engines and if they are in use their timetable, and visit the railways to find the best spot. Then check the weather report. I think these kind of trains is wonderful in all kind of weathers.
