Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken while I was in NYC, August 2018.

Time

It was about 7:15 AM, while I was doing my almost daily walking exercise.

Lighting

Nothing special. As I walked, I turned around and saw the famous building. I noticed there were fewer cars and pedestrians and I thought I could profit by having the whole building without much of interference. The sky was a bit cloudy but with an intense blue behind.

Equipment

The camera was a Cybershot DSC-WX9, no tripod, no flash, no filter.

Inspiration

The calm environment at early morning.

Editing

Yes, but I do not remember what was done. The image is a JPG and there was really much to do about it. I remember that I corrected the alignement, that´s all... But I can assure the picture is almost "as is", or straight out of the camera.

In my camera bag

I usually go out with my SONY A7 III and two lenses - a SONY EF f3.5-5.6/28-70mm (kit lens) and a SONY EF f1.8/50mm. I also take my Cybershot DSC-WX9 in my pocket when showing a bag off is not appropriate or convenient. A cell phone (iPhone) is always present when the cameras are not.

Feedback

Photography is a combination of much effort and luck, not necessarily together, not always well balanced. In this picture, I saw the opportunity and went for it. I took three more images with this one. This seemed the best to me. I also have it in B&W but the colored image makes the building stand out quite a bit more.
