Crikey! I didn't realise I'd won the Challenge until AFTER I'd submitted BTL details!!! Now and then, an old codger can take a decent shot, eh? Doing a Happy Dance! :))

Location
This was taken near Beachport, a little fishing town on the Limestone Coast of South Australia. Looking out over the Great Southern Ocean.Time
Definitely in the Golden Hour, the last few minutes before the sun had set.. Sitting on the limestone rocks, waiting for the best configuration of light in the clouds and on the ocean. This is the best of a number of images I captured.Lighting
All lighting provided by Nature.Equipment
Nikon D 80 with Sigma f2.8 17-70mm lens, UV filter. No tripod. Seated on rocks, with two elbows resting on two knees.Inspiration
Having seen a promising glow in the evening sky, I quickly grabbed my camera and drove down to a favourite vantage spot, overlooking the ocean.Editing
Very little if any post processing via Photoshop Elements 10, as the natural colours couldn't be improved on. A very slight adjustment & crop to ensure I had a level horizon. In my camera bag
Equipment is minimal. Camera and a very versatile all purpose lens. I carry a dedicated SB 60 flash, but very rarely use it, as 99% of my pictures are created using natural light. Always carry camera & lens cleaning stuff, with a lens cleaning microfibre cloth in a little pouch attached to the camera.Feedback
Take your time to explore the area, find vantage points which will create an interesting landscape, under a variety of lighting conditions - morning, noon, evening, fine or stormy weather. Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path and as you're leaving a particular place, always have a last look behind you.
