Rock Flower

Sometimes you go out shooting with an image in mind and you end up with exactly that image. Sometimes you go out shooting with an image in mind and you end up with something completely different!!

This shot has been taken on Daniel mountain, a rather curious name for a mountain. It's opposite the Zugspitze, highest mountain of Germany, and of course we wanted to shoot the alpenglow on the rocky Zugspitze surface. We were looking for compositions but didn't really find anything good, and then the sunset itself was a huge letdown. We were kind of disappointed until we turned around and saw the sky burning up!

I quickly looked for compositions when my eyes found this huge strange looking flower of jagged rocks.

Funnily enough, this super quick composition turned out to be much, much better than the composition in the other direction which I spent a good 30 minutes on.
