Location
This was taken in my front yard in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. I was very lucky to get such a unique photo as the subject kept moving.Time
I was out in the garden looking for interesting subjects to photograph at around midday.Lighting
I used both natural light with a fill in flash so the details and colors would be highlighted.Equipment
Nikon D3400, 18-55mm f2.8 lens at 55mm, Speedlite for a fill in flash, hand held.Inspiration
I'm interested in nature and wildlife and this butterfly had come into my garden a few days before. The colors were so vivid I new I had to get a picture.Editing
I used Lightroom to make minor adjustments. The photograph is pretty much how it came out of the camera. In my camera bag
I always have a 18-55mm, 55-200mm and 70-300mm as well as a tripod and Speedlite.Feedback
Patience is what is needed for nature and wildlife photos. Finding the right environment for insect are small animals. Always research your subject.
