This photo is shot on Svrakava waterfall near Banja Luka town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serb Republic. I shoot landscapes most of the time, but rarely waterfall because there is not so many in my hometown and I don't travel that much.Time
It's taken in the noon. Weather was pretty cloudy so I menage to take little bit longer exposure to capture the real stream of the waterfall.Lighting
Light was soft and nice, but I edited this photo in more like "dark moody" tones because I think there was lot of disstractions in the frameEquipment
For this shot I used Sony NEX 7 with 16-50mm kit lens from hand without tripod. Stream is fast enough to shoot this kind of photo from hand there.Inspiration
I was just hiking with my friend and think how will be nice to take some long exposure shot of this waterfall. So I stop there, take few shots with my friend in the frame and few without him and after editing I choose this one as the best of all.Editing
Yes! I edited shadows and highlights first, than fix exposure a bit and take whites up and blacks down. From that point I go to curves and make few tweaks to get more contrast, changed some luminance and colours, sharpnes, add vignete and some gradients and at the end clarity to boost shot a little. In my camera bag
I used Canon and Sony before, but now I have only Samsung NX3000 with 16-50mm kit lens and M42 adapter for Helios 58mm and Jupiter 135mm that I have at home. Hope to buy Canon soon and some good lenses (L lenses if posible) to step up my photography.Feedback
Just go out and try your camera and different settings, it's all that you need. There is many tutorials on Youtube or Skillshare today where you can learn about aperture, shutter speed, ISO and composition, everything else is on you. For this kind of shot you can use shutter speed from 1/3 second to few minutes (if you have ND filters), aperture is in most cases at f/9 - f/11 but you can go with smaller apertures too, ISO should always be lowest possible, I don't shoot at high ISO, maybe 100-400ISO, bit if you need higher ISO bring it up, you just need to know how high ISO your camera can take without much noise. Hope this helps, cheers and good light to everyone! ????
