Behind The Lens
Location
The photograph was taken at Playa Avellanas, in the Pacific of Costa Rica, during a family vacation.Time
I took the photograph at sunset that is spectacular on the beaches of the Costa Rican Pacific and took advantage of the environment to combine the still life of the trunk on the beach, with all the life that denotes the sea and the peace that evokes the sunset.Lighting
The light on the sunsets of the Costa Rican Pacific beaches, during the summer, is spectacularly golden and the reflection of the setting sun on the wet sand, highlights this "painting" that nature gives us.Equipment
At the time of taking the picture, I used a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS camera with a 20x Wide-Angle Zoom Lens (28-560mm). It was a simple, fixed-lens camera, ideal for beginners, with great performance despite its limitations in terms of lenses and sensor. Achieving that photography with that camera makes me feel even more proud of the result.Inspiration
The spectacular beauty of the sunsets on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica inspires anyone, with any type of equipment, to take photographs like this one. The natural beauty is such that one struggles to "eat" the landscape and record it in a phototrgraph.Editing
I only improved the sharpness and contrast, with a little brightness adjustment. Given the limitations of the camera used and the JPG format it was taken in, it is not possible to make advanced edits. In my camera bag
I currently own an Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III camera, with a 4/3 sensor and interchangeable lenses. In my bag I carry the camera as well as a 14-42mm lens that serves as a wide angle, another 40-150mm for details, a 60mm macro and a 500mm telephoto lens. In addition I carry filters, tripod, monopod and "fisheye" adapter for the 14-42mm lens. Everything is advanced user equipment (not professional of course), which allows me greater versatility than before. In fact I tried the equipment on a trip a year ago to Charleston, Sout Carolina, USA and I found the results to be great.Feedback
The usual advice: practice, persevere and, above all, train the eye to detect in front of you that image that others can perceive but do not understand or can not capture. Thank you for the opportunity. Greetings from Costa Rica.
