Behind The Lens

Location

I was travelling through the Algonquin Highlands in Ontario Canada looking for beautiful views of the autumn colors. I stopped at Arrowhead Lake and walked along the shoreline looking for nice view.

Time

It was early in the morning after a frosty night. The sun was starting to rise and the mist on the lake was just beginning to dissipate.

Lighting

I was at the mercy of the weather as I travelled. I was lucky to have the right combination of light and temperature.

Equipment

I took the picture with a Nikon D750, 28-300 mm lens, and a circular polarizer.

Inspiration

My photography style in the outdoors is very much like that of a street photographer. The objective of my trip was to enjoy the beautiful colors, hike some new trails and spend one more weekend under canvas. During my journey I always had a camera as a camera and took many pictures of opportunity. I was enjoying a beautiful walk along the beach in the crisp morning air knowing that as the sun rose, there would be some magical moments as the mist burned away.

Editing

I did some minor adjustments to the picture because I typically hand hold most shots and I wanted the colors to jump out at the viewer.

In my camera bag

I normally have a NIkon F2.8 lens trio, an all purpose Nikon 28-200 mm lens, flash, and the D750 Body.

Feedback

Enjoy your journey and always keep a camera handy. When something capture your eye, it is probably worth of a picture. Sunrise along the lakeshore after a frosty night is a good opportunity to capture some amazing images.
