Location
This photo was taken at the edge of my farm table just as the sun rose, shining through the window. The morning light sparkled over the warm mug as if illuminating the steam. This was one of those ah ha seconds when the scene was drenched in dawn! Luckily, my camera was also on the table.Time
I captured this photo early in the morning.Lighting
Ambient light surrounded this mug. Soft rays of light filtered through the nearby window.Equipment
My Nikon D7100 was used for this photo. The lens was an 85mm.Inspiration
One look at the sunshine in a cup was enough to reach for the camera.Editing
Light editing was used in Adobe Elements. In my camera bag
My camera bag consists of my Nikon D7100, lenses 50mm, 85mm and a telephoto lens 300mm. Lenses are added based on the scene I wish to capture.Feedback
To be prepared for those ah ha moments, I typically have my camera close to me. Inside my camera is attached with either a 50mm or 85mm lens. You never know when an opportunity will present itself. Watching light filter through the windows as well as being aware of the time of day is very helpful in utilizing natural light. Setting your intentions, props such as a coffee mug with freshly poured contents (steam) and placing it near light will teach you.
