I’ve lived in Phuket a few years now but never managed to get to the vegetarian festival. This year after reading an article by Richard Barrow in Thailand I felt inspired to go see it for myself on the last day for the closing ceremony. What I didn’t prepare myself for was the insanely loud firecrackers????????, realms of thick white smoke and hundreds of people, dressed in white. Every sense was attacked on a cellular level. How I imagine a war zone to be.
