Don't worry I didn't forget to focus the lens! I have been interested in photography for many years and I was reading a book when I discovered Uta Barth and her work called The Ground taken from 1995 to 1996 where she would have a subject in front of the lens to compose but not press the shutter. She would then remove the subject and blur out the lens creating "a blurry periphery as the actual subject." I had taken many pictures like this one by accident and deleted them as rubbish so I thought I would intentionally create a blurry periphery of my own.
