Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in downtown San Antonio Tx, during the "Dia de los Muertos", a Mexican tradition celebrated each year to remember our love ones that have passed on. They are honored with food, Drink and dance. Faces are painted in basic white and finished up in whatever other colorful paints resembling the Dead. I had been photographing this event for years and found out the San Antonio had a large celebration each year.

Time

The photo was taken at or about the late afternoon shortly after the procession around the square.

Lighting

Many colorful colors that the sun helped with the pronouncing all the features on each face.

Equipment

I was shooting a Nikon D90 with 18 to 50mm

Inspiration

The subject was very proud of her make-up she actually stood in front of me as if waiting for me to shoot her.

Editing

Very little to no post-processing. I converted from RAW to JPEG

In my camera bag

two lenses 18-50mm and 50-200mm

Feedback

Keep trying and will take a few shoots but don't stop trying
