Behind The Lens

Location

This car was sitting in a field, kind of a whimsical centerpiece. It was surrounded by vintage RV trailers. The trailers are used as storefronts for a flea market on weekends in our small town in OKLAHOMA.

Time

It was taken in October on a late afternoon when the flea market was not open. I love old cars and the rustier the better.

Lighting

It was a fairly overcast day so no diffusers were needed.

Equipment

This was shot with nikon D7200 with my tamron 90. Hand held

Inspiration

I love urban decay and the rust on this car and it’s coloring caught my eye. I was inspired by other macro photographers that specialize in cars and their parts. I really liked the way the car was being swallowed up by the grass and leaves.

Editing

Yes, I used LR and Topaz studio.

In my camera bag

I always carry a sling bag that has my D7200 , 18-55 and my lensbaby velvet 56. When my husband drives me around “photoshopping” I will also bring my tripod & tamron G2 and my 90 m because you never know what we might find.

Feedback

I think sometimes it makes a better story to shoot “parts” or angles of a car that most people might overlook. To think macro instead a full picture. I like shooting taillights, handles, hood ornaments etc. This car provided me several possibilities
