Location
Photo was taken on a way back from a spectacular hike around a big rock formation, called Miroir d'Argentine in Swiss canton Vaud, returning to Solalex.Time
Late afternoon, early summer evening.Lighting
It was a shaded side of the mountain range, so had to manage strong highlight in the sky and deep shadow in the foreground.Equipment
Wide angle (16mm) shot on Canon 6D, handheld on the move.Inspiration
The apparent mystery about a house that just appear around a corner, greets you for a brief moment and disappears again as you walk away.Editing
Lightroom retouch, streaching shadows and minimizing highlights of the raw file.In my camera bag
Mountain trips are usually covered by 16-35mm wide angle zoom and 70-200mm tele-lens, full frame camera and filter kit is always helpful (polariser, 10-stop ND for daytime, mild 2-3stop graduated filter), lightweight carbon fibre tripod and comfortable backpack.Feedback
Always look for the hidden treasures around the corner, walk off the beaten path and spend some time in places new and never visited before, as this may be the only chance to see that place or object in that particular time of day and year.
