Location
This is Wyandot Falls on the Glen Leigh gorge (just above Waters Meet) of Ricketts Glen State Park. It was a planned adventure with my friend, Tim Devine and his older son, Logan. We also stopped over at State Game Lands Number 13 (for more waterfall photography).Time
This exposure was taken on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at 12:49pm.Lighting
Lighting is always a challenge. You optimally want overcast skies when shooting long exposures. (so you get even lighting) My guess is we had variable lighting throughout the day. Sometime we just have to sit and wait for clouds to cover the sun to get the exposure we want. And sometimes, you have to work with almost full sun. You just try and make the best of the situation.Equipment
Sony a6000 APS-C Mirrorless camera, Rokinon 12mm f2 NCS CS Wide Angle lens andInspiration
Waterfalls are my thing and Ricketts Glen SP has been a favorite for many years. Always a challenge to get the perfect conditions with: lighting, water flow and autumn foliage!Editing
First and foremost. I run the Sony RAW file through Adobe Camera Raw. Then I'll usually process with either of these software plug-ins: Nik Collection (mostly Color Efex Pro and Viveza) or Skylum (formerly Macphun) Luminar. In my camera bag
I usually tend to bring three or four prime lens and some ND & CP filters. Try and keep the weight down to a minimum!Feedback
Essential gear include: a tripod, Neutral Density and / or Circular Polarizer filters (shutter release remote is optional).
