Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my garden apartment in Whiting, Indiana. I just love snapping shots of things I think would be a great photo opportunity. I am still a beginner of photography. I am a hands on learner of things. Reading and being told things are not how I learn photography.

Time

I believe this shot was taken in the late afternoon as my husband and I were watching our shows on the tv. I seen our Snowball sitting on his lap at one time and then I turned back to take a peek at our Snowball and seen she was just exhausted and was showing us exactly how exhausted she was. So I grabbed my cell phone and snapped a shot.

Lighting

My husband and I like sitting and watching our shows in dim lights. So we had a side table light on that sits behind my husband's recliner on the opposite side of the room. It was only like a 45 watt bulb in the lamp.

Equipment

As I said previously, I am a beginner and do not have an actual camera yet. So just use the camera on my cellphone. I've changed cell phones a couple times since then, so I'm not positive on what cell phone it was. But I'm thinking it was taken with my Droid Turbo cell phone at that time. When I do get different phones, I try to pick a phone with better camera options.

Inspiration

My inspiration for any shots I do get, is mainly the question as.....would this make a great photo? Or like an "OMG great picture to take". I am partially disabled so I don't get the chance to get out and take pictires I think would be awesome shots. But one day, I will get the chance at taking those shots that I haven't been able to as of yet. My husband and I would drive around running errands and I see a something I'd love to take Picture of, but I can't do that shot while driving and can not pull over to the side of the road to try. To get that perfect shot, takes patients. I don't want to rush and get a shot cause 9 times out of 10, it's not the shot you were wanting to get.

Editing

I usually do not do anything as post processing and or photoshopping pictures. I like my pictures to be original and no extras done. I will use enhancements on certain photos of my 2 granddaughters only because they like seeing them in those enhanced photos, for fun. I have also done enhancements on some of my pets pictures for the grand daughters as well. So yes, I do some post processing on certain pictures. But I really would rather keep my photos as the original shots.

In my camera bag

I do not carry a bag, but if I know I'm going out for taking pictures, I do have an extra lens I attach to my phone camera so I can get closer up pictures or even macro images.

Feedback

Patience is a virtue they say. So always have patience when shooting your snapshots. Especially, if you are a beginner as I am. Love what you do is another statement of advise. If you love what you do when you are a photographer in training. And never ever give up on a shot that you think is a perfect picture. If it don't turn out the first few times, adjust yourself, change your settings and keep going until that perfect shot comes out just the way you like it. If you like it, other will as well.
