Location
The photo was taken in Glacier National Park in Montana on the "Going to the Sun Road" at Logan's Pass.Time

The sun was peeking through the clouds and casting long shadows.Equipment
I used a Nikon D300, zoom lens and the focal length was set to 78mm and hand held. I took 5 bracketed shots and merged them as an HDR.Inspiration
As I was driving on the "Going to the Sun Road" I looked over my shoulder and was amazed at the view. There was no place to stop so I had to drive another mile or 2 until it was safe to make a U-turn and go back. I remember pulling into a little spot on the opposite side of the road and running across the road to find the perfect shot.Editing
I used Photomatix to merge the 5 bracketed photos and probably touched it up using Photoshop. In my camera bag
Back then (2012) I only had a Nikon D300, zoom lens, wide angle, Nikon strobe and filters. Now, a Nikon D800, Tamron 15-30mm, Zoom, Insta360 One X, GoPro Hero 8 Black, DJI Mavic Air 2 drone and all associated equipment.Feedback
Glacier National Park is my favorite National Park. It is so incredibly beautiful, you could literally close you eyes, spin around and shoot a photo and get an incredible shot anywhere in the park.
