This was a result of an incredible encounter with a baby humpback in Tonga. With a high energy, close proximity pass by this little fellow I was able top capture this over- under shot as it turned sharply at from me. All my practice holding my camera at water level in portrait format played off. This may be one of my most technically successful shots from the trip. The 8 inch dome creates two separate focal planes, one above and one below the water. Having to find the right aperture to overlap them both while keeping a reasonable expose under water was a huge challenge in itself. I came our very successful in my attempt and I am pleased to have captured this unique angle and perspective.
