Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Yokohama from Osanbashi pier.

Time

The photo was taken between 6PM to 8PM Japan time.

Lighting

The Yokohama city is a paradise for photographers for shooting city night lights. If you want to have beautiful night light shots then visit Minato Mirai area and Osanbashi pier in Yokohama. One can get colorful city lights and different types of light trail shots.

Equipment

I shot this with Nikon D5100 camera, and Nikkor 18-55mm lens with Velbon Tripod.

Inspiration

The beautiful city lights and mesmerizing view inspired me to take this shot. I had thought of this shot multiple times and prepared for this shot for few days before going to shoot.

Editing

The image is and HDR created with three images with different exposures.

In my camera bag

Generally I use Nikon D5100 camera with Nikkor 18-55, 55-200 and Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens.

Feedback

Explore the area before going for final shot. Also take care of weather. Small amount of clouds can add some drama in the pic. Find out a firm platform to mount tripod, avoid any types of vibrations. A remote trigger is recommended to avoid any camera shake because of shutter button operation.
