Location
This was taken in the neighbourhood streets, his prom day. :)Time
It was taken during the golden hour.Lighting
I used one light, but kept it low as the colors are real vibrant at golden hour session.Equipment
I used my Nikon d7200 handheld with one external flash light.Inspiration
I wanted to give him a sophisticated look and feel, but yet playful efforts. He blended quickly in and the contrasts were magnificent. The day was over casted and made it easier with no harsh light on him.Editing
I used Adobe lightroom for editing as I shoot RAW, added little bits of everything, but overall the flash technique doesnt need alot of editing as I always aim to little as to none post production. In my camera bag
My go to lens is my 50mm 1.4 lens, bokeh is beautiful as to blur some of the background and enhance the subject. I always shoot off camera flash as to bounce the light in a creative way. It does takes alot of effort, but the end results is really worth it.Feedback
I would say, know your capabilities and try and discover your own style, learn as much as possible by going out there, and enjoy it. :)
