Eddie Aikau Opening Ceremony 2015

I have been lucky to get to attend the opening ceremony for the Eddie Aikau surfing competition that was sponsored by Quiksilver for a number of years. The actual competition has only be held 9 times since its inception as the opening wave swells have to be at a minimum 20 feet which equates to a 30 foot face height wave. Eddie was a surfer and the first lifeguard on the North Shore and he saved hundreds of lives in the 60s and 70s. You need to read about Eddie Aikau
