Thanks for all the comments and awards. This photo brings me a lot of joy, sadly Fire my dog is no longer with my family, as he suffered kidney failure not long after this photo was taken.

Behind The Lens

Location

BlackRock sands beach, on our first family holiday and was the last photo I took of our dog before he sadly past away

Time

It was taken in the afternoon on a sunny but over cast day.

Lighting

I didn't really think about the light that much as I had little control over it. I just kept moving myself and camera to make the best of the natural light.

Equipment

The was taken with my Sony a6500 and Sigma Art 50mm

Inspiration

This photo didn't mean alot to me at the time, but it came to be very important to mesoon after. It was taken on our First family holiday at BlackRock sands in North Wales and is the last photo I took of my dog before he sadly past away. The reason I took the photo in the first place may seem quite mundane to most people, but not only was it our first holiday together it was the first time that Fire had entered any body of water. Normally he avoids getting wet at all costs and untill that day on the holiday he had been happy to stay on the beach, but for some reason this time he decided to join me and my eldest soon (4yrs old at the time) paddling in the shallow water. So I took as many shots as I could, in case he changed his mind.

Editing

I did very little post processing except runnig it through Dxo standard profiles for the camera and lens.

In my camera bag

I normally have my Sony a6500, my macro lens. I add other stuff depending on what I'm trying to shoot or what activity I'm planning on doit. Walk round the zoo I'll add my old 600m lens and my tripod. Walking in the hills, my filters.

Feedback

I wish I could say this was planned but it was simply being there at the right time,l.
