Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken when a live butterfly flew in the door and landed on the large fake plant in my dining table. It had been an unseasonable cold day that morning, and I think that the butterfly wanted to warm up as he sat in the sun for the better part of the morning and around noon, when the day warmed up, he perked right up and I placed him back outside in our back garden.

Time

This was taken some time in early morning, more than likely around nine or so.

Lighting

Lighting was the Tungsten - Florescent bulb in my kitchen.

Equipment

Surprisingly, I used a Canon Rebel T6 with the base lens. I did attach a 58mm - 72mm expander with a +1 closeup magnifier for several of the shots which enabled the high definition of the wings.

Inspiration

I was fascinated with macro photography in my younger days and this moment was too good and felt to special to not experiment.

Editing

This photo is as it was. all I did was crop the photo just a bit closer.

In my camera bag

At the time, I was playing with my nieces camera as I was cleaning the sensor at the time. My camera is normally A Canon EOS T7i with full 30 piece 72mm Orion filter kit (I owned a 72mm Ifon lense that fit and old Lica 35m camera that I learned on and the filter kit has never let me down)

Feedback

Never be afraid of the basic equipment. It is sometimes all you really need.
