Location
This photo was taken at a lake near my house in Golden Colorado. I took my boys fishing and couldn't help but snap some pictures of the ducks that came to eat our bait lolTime
This was actually taken pretty early in the day. Before lunch time for sure, probably around 11amLighting
It was pretty harsh natural lighting that day. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was around 11am so I'm very proud of how this turned out.Equipment
I was using my Canon T6 with a sigma 18-250mm lens. That lens has slowly become one of my favorites for all around useInspiration
My son actually. He loves ducks and when they started stealing the bait off our hooks he had the best belly laugh about it. This picture will remind me of that belly laugh that I love so much forever.Editing
I don't have a fancy editor like Lightroom or Photoshop I use a free editor on my laptop called photoscapex. I brightened up the colors some and turned the exposure down just a little. In my camera bag
My bag is usually full. I like to keep my camera body of course lol, my sigma 18-250mm, my Canon 75-300mm, lense filters in case I'm shooting through glass, tripod, flash with it's defusers, cleaning cloths and spray, and finally snacks. I'm usually out for 5+ hours at a time so I like to keep snacks with me so I'm not running on fumes.Feedback
Take a million shots. Seriously I probably took 10 pictures before I got this shot. I use to be scared of how many "bad" pictures I got just to have a few "good" ones and now I have learned that's just part of the process especially with wild life. They are unpredictable and obviously cant listen to posing instructions lol
