Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in St. Lucia. It is a small stream which people visit Specially to take a sulphur bath. My family members were busy having their bath and I was busy taking pictures and this one is the outcome.

Time

It is an early afternoon picture.

Lighting

There is nothing special about the lighting for this picture as I had no time to wait for any particular type of lighting. It’s all available light.

Equipment

I used Canon EOS 5d Mark III with EF 24-105 f4L IS USM Lens and Singh-Ray ColourCombo 105mm Polariser. No tripod.

Inspiration

I liked the stream flowing through the tall grasses and running into the small rocks giving me a beautiful foreground. I wanted to compose this image as a tight shot so did not use the wider end of the lens which is 24mm.

Editing

Yes I used some hue and saturation to adjust colours and a bit of sharp img. Slightly adjusted the exposure as my habit is to slightly Underexpose.

In my camera bag

Normally I pack Only one EOS 5d Mk III camera with EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM lens with Polariser attached when I am with my family. I do have other stuff like ND 10 and ND 6 filters, NDG Breakthrough 1,2,3, densities filters, an RRS L bracket is permanently attached to each of my 3 cameras.

Feedback

Always master Histogram, always underexpose slightly when shooting high contrast.
