Behind The Lens

Location

I lived in Hanoi, Vietnam for three years. While I was there everything was very photogenic. This was taken at the weekend market in the Old Quarters.

Time

This was taken around 8pm at night. This is when the market started to kick off and that's when I feel like I can capture some great photos.

Lighting

The only thing about the light was all the vendors around have a lot of lights to display their products along with the street lights.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a Nikon D610 and a 50mm Sigma prime lens.

Inspiration

People in Vietnam inspire me all the time. You can tell that this woman has some struggles and I wanted to capture her relaxing in her hard times.

Editing

The only post-processing I did was a little adjustment to the exposure, white balance, and contrast.

In my camera bag

I normally have my tri-pod(me-foto), Nikon d610, 50mm Sigma prime, inta360, and my iPhone(iPhone 12 pro).

Feedback

The best advice I can give is to keep shooting! Try from a different angle other than the view you normally see just standing up. Get down low and take a shot looking up for a new perspective. If that doesn't work try getting an angle from up high looking low. I believe that any angle that's not your normal just standing there is an interesting shot. If that shot doesn't work for you keep shooting until it does!
