Had a wonderful, but rather scary, two weeks here with my son at Taba Heights in 2005. The hotel was guarded by soldiers with Kalashnikov rifles and there were concrete blocks to stop potential car bombers but it was bizarre because outside the grounds they were making a golf course, hacking it out of the solid rock! Great location, pity about the fear factor.
