Thanks you so much - was really pleased with that one as they are extemely difficult to catch in flight - it was a case of press the shutter and hope it works and for once it did.

Location
This image was captured at my local wildlife reserve Lackford Lakes which is a Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve. I am a volunteer for the trust. As a self taught amateur photographer with a passion for wildlife and nature I was thrilled to capture this beautiful kingfisher in flight. I am not one to sit for hours in a hide waiting for that perfect shot as I much prefer to be on the move.Time

I am fortunate to have a Nikon D500 and use a 300mm f/4 pf lens for my wildlife photography. It is a very lightweight combination which gives me the freedom of movement which enabled me to track the kingfisher with ease. Always handheld or resting of some convenient post or tree trunk whatever is available.Inspiration
Lackford is renowned for its kingfishers and it is such a beautiful bird I just wanted to capture its true beauty.Editing
I shoot all images in raw and do post processing in LR but with minimum of adjustments. I prefer my images to be as I saw it at the time and am not a lover of photo shopped images. In my camera bag
I walk around with my Nikon D500 and 300mm prime lens with a spare battery in my pocket and a lens wipe. I am not built to carry huge amounts of equipment around.Feedback
The key to capturing something like this is the versatility of your equipment and being in the right place at the right time. It is a lot harder with bulky lenses. Above all patience.
