Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the one skiing holiday I have ever done. It was taken just meters from the Matterhorn itself, in Zermatt, Switzerland.

Time

This is one of my favourite pictures, taken first thing in the morning before we set off skiing.

Lighting

I love how the sun just radiated in the picture, creating lovely shadows across the different textures of the rock. The clear blue sky just compliments the image.

Equipment

This picture was shot on my first bridge camera, Panasonic. No other equipment was used.

Inspiration

The Matterhorn is the focal point of the entire area and stands as a beacon showing off the weather on a daily basis.

Editing

No processing on this one. Just a simple set up, focus and shoot.

In my camera bag

I tend to use a DSLR now, Canon 650D. I always carry around 2 lenses; one normal 18-55mm and a long lens (300mm). I love the flexibility to shoot pictures and don't like to be limited by small lenses.

Feedback

Follow weather forecasts carefully so that you can plan trips at the best time and day. Consider where the sun will be at the time of day you wish to shoot so you know that it will be illuminated well.
