As an avid sports photo hobbyist and baseball fan, I make a pilgrimage every March to Arizona to shoot spring training games. I've done this for about 15 years and this is my favorite image! The batter was a left handed, meaning that the odds were he'd hit it to the right side of the infield, so I set my camera on the second baseman and hoped (1) that the ball would be hit to him (2) that something interesting would happen, and (3) I'd get the shot. It turns out that the player (Andrew Romine) didn't make the catch but I certainly did.
