Location
I took this photo at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.Time
Mid afternoon - like between 2-4pmLighting
I'm a self taught photographer with only a few lessons from a photographer in NYC that was about intuitive photography rather than technical knowledge - so I tend to shoot more from my intuition rather than worrying about getting all the setting right on my camera - I found that I really really love Macro Photography and so that its what mainly shoot when not traveling but when I'm traveling I take all kinds of photo's. This was taken just using the natural light from the bright sun that was shinning that afternoon.Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel SL1 - with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens - no flash, no tripodInspiration
Since I love Macro Photography when I came upon this flower in one of the Botanical Garden's flower areas it just spoke to me - it was just barely opening and full of color and the sun was shining on it just right and it was so full of texture, I just had to snap a picture of it.Editing
NoIn my camera bag
Camera, portrait lens, macro lens, zoom lens, SD Cards of various types, lens cleaner, tripod, extra charged battery, & rain coverFeedback
I always say just follow your intuition/instincts and make sure you have a good macro lens - some are better than others
