I wanted the lightning itself to light up the sky. I had to video anywhere from 5-10 minutes at a time to get the exact shot I wanted.Equipment
I had broke my tripod. So I was sitting on the tailgate of my truck supporting myself on the bedside since I knew the perfect shot would take some time.Inspiration

Lightning is especially hard to capture. I prefer the video method because of the frame selection.
