Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken around the swimming pool at my house in Cape Town some time ago.

Time

It was in the morning and I was looking for some nice pictures of our pets.

Lighting

I saw the colors all making a nice composition and tried to have it as natural as possible, without getting their attention. They were in the soft, early, morning light.

Equipment

It was a long time ago, but I believe it was some semi-auto, non-SDLR Canon

Inspiration

I really loved the tranquility of our cats, especially these two, who were best buddies and was trying to capture the protectiveness of "Tubby" the white cat over "Twinkles toes" the small black cat. The color of the eyes was amazing. Tubby passed over the rainbow bridge about 9 years ago and Twinkles is now an old lady of 21 years and still prim and proper.

Editing

Only cropped most of the "noise" out.

In my camera bag

I have an old D6 and a 32mm lens at the moment

Feedback

Try to be as natural as possible. You and your subject/object.
