During the year of 2017-2018, I traveled to the Zhejiang area which is located in China and discovered a beautiful hidden ancient village called 景宁, there I managed to meet many locals who taught me about where the deep roots of Chinese history had begun. Over the past few years, China has metamorphosed into a rapidly developing country with cities like Beijing and Shanghai known as the go-to places worldwide. Swept in high-rise buildings and bustling cities. It seems like many of us have forgotten where the roots of our Chinese heritage lie. I wanted to capture the essence of Chinas ancient history, many of these locals and ancient villages still remain ‘hidden’, hence the name of this photo. I tried to capture and explore what I call the ‘forgotten’, encapsulating the beauty of Chinas ancient lifeline.
