Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Antelope Canyon (Arizona) during my honeymoon travel in with my wife.

Time

I remember that was a hot day and before starting the guided tour we eat amazing BBQ Ribs! We reach the entrance by a custom pickup adapted to take tours. Since the potholed road, we danced the whole time! This was taken on July 29, 2018 at 3:30 PM local time.

Lighting

The light in this place is very difficult! Light from the up and a lot of shadow on the bottom. So I put the setting to manual e did some test shots.

Equipment

Since we bought the "normal tour" tripods was prohibited so I used the rocks to lean and be more stable. The photo was taken with Sony ILCE-6000 ƒ/4,5 1/60 16 mm ISO1600

Inspiration

Instinct! Do you know when you happen to see a shape in the clouds? Happened the same here: I saw a hearth in the shape of the rocks. Do you see it?

Editing

Yes, as usual. I have just made some basic adjustment on luminosity, contrast, and noise since the photo was taken at 1600ISO

In my camera bag

I usually have my Sony a600 and 16-70mm F4 lens with some gradual filters and the Samyang 12mm F2.

Feedback

If you bought the normal tour I suggest to put your camera in the manual and take some test shots at the start of the tour. You ill have little time for the shots.
