"Strangled"

Timeworn roots of a lonely tree crawl like wounded soldiers down the face of a cliff.
This rather tortured looking tree caught my eye while on a stroll through Tribune Bay, BC, Canada. I thought it would be the perfect shot to write an environmental piece about - so thats what I've done. This photo will appear with a story to go along with it on my instagram in the near future.
I believe this photo works perfectly with the "Creative Compositions" contests, because how many times do you look at a tree from this angle? And how many times do you see exposed roots acting as leading lines toward the top of the tree? Not often! This unique perspective of starting at the roots and going to the tree top, on top of the wicked, moody tones all help make this a creative composition!
