The old bridge was constructed from 1909 to 1912 know as the Overseas Railroad.
In 1982 a new Seven Mile Bridge was completed to accommodate modern traffic and taller ships, the section known as Old Seven Mile Bridge has served as a world famous fishing pier, jogging and bike riding.
This old bridge is currently closed, and is being repaired. It is scheduled to reopen in 2021.
