A beautiful example of an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio glaucus), this brightly colored one was only one of several different insects feeding in my backyard about 30 minutes north of Atlanta Georgia.. There were several Tiger Swallowtails, bumble bee's, moths and even a hummingbird that stopped by for a drink. They took turns at the many flowers on this Buddleia bush, commonly referred to as the butterfly bush. Two similar looking Swallowtails, along with this one were at the plant for over 2 hours, in the later afternoon hours.
