"The Atlantic" The War in the Atlantic had been going on since September of 1939 and ended in May of 1945. At the end of the war most of Europe was in ruins, millions of people were without homes. This memorial is there to honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the United States and Democracy.
