I took this on an organised shoot at a 50s diner in Essex, UK.Time
This was taken during the day but the weather wasn't on our side. It rained heavily on and off, we took this in one of the quieter moments!Lighting
This is shot purely with natural lighting, however the photo was over exposed to aid the dramatic look.Equipment
I used a Canon 1200d which was my first DSLR and a 50mm 1.8 lens.Inspiration
The aim of the shoot was 50s/60s fashion and styles. With the model I was aiming for a bad boy almost James Dean look with the cigarette in his mouth.Editing
Yes, because it was over exposed in camera, I had to adjust the levels and contrast to bring it back to something aesthetically pleasing. I also changed it to B&W to make it feel aged.In my camera bag
I always carry my Canon 6Dmk2, 50mm 1.4, Sigma 24-105mm a flash gun wherever I go. All very reliable kit.Feedback
Don't be afraid to play with exposure and don't let the weather stop you from taking shots.
