Location
I took this on the side of a country road in rural New South Wales Australia.I was drawn by the beautiful blend of earthy colours of the plants and the bush and rusty outbuildings behind.Time
The first time that I noticed the setting it was early morning and my Canon Power Shot SX730 HS was the only camera with me and I took 15 or so shots but the back ground just was not what I had imagined.I came back later in the afternoon with my Nikon 3100 and took quite a lot more shots.Lighting
The light later in the day was sunny and more light was filtering down through the gum trees.Equipment
The shots were handheld with my Nikon D3100 and 55-300mm Lens. The scene through the DLSR was exactly what I was looking for.The shot that was finally taken was from the roadway and the flowers were up around 3mts above road level giving a nice POV.Inspiration
The inspiration came from the wonderful orange flowers and brown leaves that teamed so well with the rusty blue out buildings and eucalyptus bush.Earthy basic colours that so typify the Australian countryside.Editing
Apart from some basic cropping and a small amount of colour correction there was no further adjustment needed .In my camera bag
Very basic ,Nikon D3100,my favourite 55-300mm lens ,Canon Power Shot SX730HS,Tripod,spare batteries, cleaning cloths and note book.Feedback
I am a late starter,73yrs,and though I have always owned a camera it wasn't until I joined VB some 2 years ago that I have learnt of such things as rule of thirds, pov, creating a shot and other important rules to follow or at least be aware of.Without the Viewbug influence I would never have created this shot.To new photographers I suggest that you listen to and take notice of the work of your peers and don't be satisfied with one or two shots but take many .Take notes and learn from your mistakes.
