This is a reconstruction of the old Kern County court room from the latter 1800s, during the mining boom. The one room court house was originally built in Claraville, northeast of Bakersfield. The original materials were used for the reconstruction in 1953 when it was rebuilt at the Kern County Museum in central California. Notice the horns used for the back of the judge's chair.
