A stylized version of a picture I took kayaking up to Willamette Falls in Oregon City Oregon, The 2nd largest waterfall by volume in North America, it is one of the oldest industrialized sites in the Western US - located near the end of the Oregon Trail, early settlers took advantage of it's water power to build mills and other enterprises. It was the first place in the world that generated electricity was transmitted over distance, from the PGE Dam to downtown Portland in 1889. The existing Paper Mill on the south Side of the River is slated for redevelopment into a multi use site that will include public access to the Falls via foot for the fist time in 150 years - see www.rediscoverthefalls.com for more inf.
